RØDSILDRE CANDLES are made of beeswax, which was the preferred candle type by royalty, nobility and the church because of its pleasant aroma and beautiful light. Beeswax is also a natural byproduct of the beekeeping industry. It’s made and used by bees to store their honey and raise their broods. It is the most eco friendly candle wax. Other benefits include the natural release of negative ions and it burns much longer and has a lower toxicity than other types of candles.
Beeswax candles do not require chemical processing. Beeswax is one of the densest waxes and has a high melting point. This means that beeswax doesn’t need any hardeners, additives, or chemical treatments to make a quality product.
Unlike many other candles, burning beeswax actually purifies the air. Beeswax candles emit negative ions which bind with particulate matter in the air, causing the floating particles in the air to drop to the ground. Some say negative ions also stimulate the pituitary gland, thus increasing creativity, intuition, and dream activity. Because of their air cleansing properties, beeswax candles are a great candle option for people with allergies, asthma, sinuses and sensitivities.
Subtle, Natural Scent
Beeswax candles get their scent from the nectar and honey that was originally stored in the honeycomb. Therefore, the scents of our candles change slightly depending on what the bees were pollinating.
We also offer candles with the added benefit of 100% pure essential oils. These oils naturally combine well with the organic sweet scent of beeswax. Like beeswax, essential oil has been used since the dawn of civilization. These oils are basically the distilled essence of a certain plant and are used as healing compounds in e.g. aromatherapy.
Our beeswax come from the UK. It is suitable for all daily situations and focuses on the needs of meditation, yoga, creation, and healing. Unlike most paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, which is great for people with allergies or sensitivities and those of us who want clean burning candles in our homes.
